Building Disaster Resilience A Six Step Process to Success One day workshops in Melbourne (13th March 2008) and Adelaide (11 March 2008) The Building Disaster Resilience workshop highlights a successful stepped approach which can be used by a variety of organisations and contextualised to their particular needs. What constitutes an disaster in your business or community? What is considered an emergency? Is it the loss of vital personnel and their knowledge walking out the door and going to a competitor? It is the death or serious injury of one or more of workers in a small regional town? Is it the a major city wide blackout which disables computer systems and seriously compromises organisations capacity to service customers for a period of time? Mr Dean Monterey, Director - Emergency Management Solutions, EmerGeo Solutions Inc will be presenting this workshop. Dean has 30 years of practical international experience in emergency management as a responder, manager and senior business and government advisor. His years of experience are supplemented by an undergraduate degree and courses in the emergency management field. Dean is an internationally recognised speaker and trainer and has responded to many major events and emergencies worldwide including: •1988 Olympic Winter Games •1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill •1991 Gulf War - Bahrain and Qatar - dealing with world's largest oil spill. •1999 Kosovar refugee airlift crisis. •2003 British Columbia firestorm. •2006 BC Ferry, M.V. Queen of the North which sank losing two lives. APCS is proud to be presenting these workshops in conjunction with Canada's EmerGeo Solutions Inc and Polson Human Resource and Training Brokers (SA).
